Beware of
LATENT HEAT
the real
Hidden Dragon
2 eggs in a pot of ice water on a hot stove. Question: When will the eggs begin to feel the heat? Answer: After all the ice has been melted. It take 334 joules to melt one gram of ice without raising the temperature, thus, Latent Heat. For as long as there is ice left to melt, the infused heat will go into melting the ice first, not raising the temperature. The latter will happen once the ice is gone.
Now imagine the Arctic Ocean as the pot of ice-water. The Big Heat won't come on until all the sea ice have melted in the summer, as early as 2013, then, watch out! Here is an analogy the money-minded can understand. Suppose John inherited $1 million, with which he uses to pay his credit card debt of $10,000/month. He would be good for 100 payments, during which time his credit rating would remain as A+. But come the 101th payment, and thereafter, when there is no money left, his credit rating will plummet. This is foreseeable back when his credit rating was A+. Point to note in this analogy: no more money will be added to John's inheritance account, just as no more ice will be added to the Arctic Ocean. What we see is all we have. Once the ice is gone, it's gone, and the Earth will begin to overheat.
Worse, the Big Heat will accelerate the melting of the permafrost and the sea floor methane hydrate deposits, releasing gaseous methane by the billions of tons into the atmosphere, thus kick-starting the dreaded Runaway Global Heating.

Wow, this latent heat is way scary! And seeing these trees slanted because the permafrost is melting away -- a desperate sight! We humans think we conquered nature starting maybe 10,000 years ago but, wow, were we ever deluded!

watch out...the methane is coming to a area near you( meaning all of us).
