Imposing HUMAN VALUES on NATURE

The ladybug is a predator, but looks, well, lady-like. Her larva looks like a 6-legged alligator and doesn't bother with social image and table manners.

Their main prey is the aphid. Aphids are the universal prey of insect predators, including most ants. But there is a specific species of ants - Lasius niger - which do not eat aphids, but protect them against the predators. Their payback is their specific kind of food. They would walk among the the aphids, and tap them with their antennae. The tapped aphid would produce a drop of honeydew, basically excess sugars it doesn't need, which the ant laps up. This species of ants co-evolved with this species of aphids and they are indispensable to each other's survival.

From a human perspective, Lasius niger could be seen as cattle keepers and the aphids their "milk-cattle". In AR and Vegan terms, keeping cattle is exploitation and enslavement. Here is the question: Should we condemn Lasius niger as exploiters and slavers, and Nature, in full condonation of this, as evil?

I have actually seen people online whining about how they would like to exterminate wild dogs for eating cute little herbivores, or how they wish the recorder of nature videos died because they didn't save some animal from being eaten by lions. It seems like today's Biology textbooks are Charlotte's Web and their class video was Bambi.
